A Polish Translation of an Excerpt from the Twentieth-Century Adaptation Bovo-Bukh by Moshe Knapheys: From Venetian Buovo d’Antona to in Musterwerk Series The paper has a double purpose. It contains short excerpt t anslation latest known adaptation authored Knapheys and published YIVO Buenos Aires 1962. also basic exegesis chivalry poem, starting with its earliest incunables vernacular strong traits, printed 1480s, through first Yiddish-Taytsh Elia Levita, originally written Padua 1507, but Isny only 1541. translation modern Yiddish according 1962 version critical apparatus which early text (a 1487 incunable), Levita’s latter, both 1 07 manuscript 1541 print, are taken into consideration for comparison.
